Proscribed JKAAC’s Core Member Shoukat Nawaz Mir seeks Pakistan Government’ mediation to resolve AJK crises
MIRPUR: The banned Jammu & Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee’s core member Shoukat Nawazc Mir, has, in a detailed statement, appreciatiated the Government of Pakistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, praising what he described as their “constructive and responsible role” in promoting regional and global peace and diplomatic engagement.
In the statement, Shoukat Nawaz Mir, the Core Member of the Proscrubed outfit, referred to recent international developments, including reported diplomatic efforts involving defusing of war between the United States and Iran, commended Pakistan’s stance in supporting dialogue-based solutions to international conflicts. He said that Pakistan has consistently advocated peaceful resolution of disputes through negotiation, mutual respect, and diplomatic engagement.
Mir said that his JKAAC values any positive progress toward peace and reconciliation between global powers, and acknowledged Pakistan’s “positive and responsible diplomatic role” in promoting stability in the region and beyond.
Extending its focus to domestic matters, the committee” Core Member emphasized that similar diplomatic engagement should be applied to ongoing tensions in Azad Jammu and Kashmir between the Joint Awami Action Committee and the AJK state government. Heexpressed hope that Pakistan’s leadership could play a meditating role in breaking the current deadlock in negotiations and facilitating a mutually acceptable and sustainable resolution.
The statement further reiterated that peaceful dialogue, mutual respect, and prioritizing public interests remain the only viable path toward resolving disputes. It stressed that confrontation would not serve the interests of the people and called for meaningful negotiations to restore trust between the concerned parties.
Reaffirming its position, the committee” Core member Shoukat Nawaz Mir said it remains open to dialogue and constructive engagement with all stakeholders, including the Government of Pakistan and the Azad Jammu & Kashmir administration, to address public concerns and ensure stability, justice, and development in the region.
The group also expressed optimism that what it described as Pakistan’s diplomatic achievements at the international level could translate into similar success in resolving internal administrative and political issues in Azad Jammu Kashmir through peaceful means.
Mir concluded his statement with a call for continued cooperation and dialogue, urging all parties to work toward long-term peace, development, and public welfare in the region.
