PM AJK Faisal Mumtaz Rathore calls for UN?Backed resolution of Kashmir issue
Islamabad: Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, has stressed the need for resolving the Kashmir issue in accordance with United Nations resolutions.He made these remarks during a meeting with Chairman of the Kashmir Committee, Rana Qasim Noon, and British Member of Parliament, Chaudhry Imran, who called on him here today. Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore described India’s actions in occupied Kashmir including state oppression, extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, and violations of fundamental human rights, as a grave challenge to the global conscience.
He also appreciated the principled stance of British parliamentarians on the Kashmir issue and their support for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people.He highlighted the UK’s pivotal role in finding out a just and peaceful resolution of the long running dispute.Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore underscored that a lasting solution in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people is essential for sustainable peace in South Asia.During the meeting, Chaudhry Imran expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri people and reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding human rights and raising the Kashmir issue on international platforms.During the meeting, the current situation in the region, and the ongoing human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir came
under discussion.
