Islamabad: Retired Deputy Inspector General of Azad Jammu Kashmir Police Raja Irfan Saleem and former Mirpur City Administrator Ghulam Yasin Chaudhry called on newly elected Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Barrister Iftikhar Gilani at Jammu Kashmir House in the federal on Thursday and congratulated him on assuming office of the AJK’ Premiership. The delegation conveyed their best wishes to Barrister Iftikhar Gilani and expressed hope that he would use his experience, capabilities and political acumen to promote development in Azad Jammu Kashmir, address public issues and strengthen state institutions.The meeting also informally discussed the overall situation in Azad Kashmir, matters of mutual interest and various administrative and state affairs.The participants exchanged views on maintaining law and order, improving public welfare, strengthening administrative mechanisms and making the development process more effective in the region.Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Barrister Iftikhar Gilani thanked the delegation for their felicitations and said the AJK government would utilise all available resources to meet public expectations and accelerate development in the state.He said resolution of public grievances through due immediate reforns , good governance and effective coordination among state institutions were among the government’s key priorities.The meeting held in a cordial atmosphere, with the participants reiterating their commitment to public service, development and effective management of state affairs in Azad Jammu Kashmir indiscriminately.
