CEC Ghulam Mustafa Mughal lauded for Peaceful, Transparent 2026 Polls
Muzaffarabad : Political, social, religious, business, public, academic and literary circles have paid rich tribute to Chief Election Commissioner of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Justice (Retd.) Ghulam Mustafa Mughal, for successfully conducting all three phases of the AJ&K Elections 2026 in a peaceful, transparent and dignified manner despite highly challenging, sensitive and difficult circumstances.
Public representatives and citizens said that the successful completion of the 2026 elections was a clear reflection of the effective strategy, consistency, impartiality and administrative capabilities of Chief Election Commissioner Justice (Retd.) Ghulam Mustafa Mughal and the Election Commission. They described the completion of a three-phase electoral process according to the scheduled timetable, despite the prevailing sensitive and challenging circumstances, as a significant administrative achievement.
Office-bearers and members of the Awan Ittehad District Muzaffarabad, Aman Ittehad Action Committee Nalochhi, Bint-e-Hawa Action Committee Nalochhi, Additional Chief Warden of the Civil Defence Organization Khawaja Nazir Ahmed, and other representative personalities, in a joint congratulatory statement, said that Justice (Retd.) Ghulam Mustafa Mughal provided the people of the state with a peaceful, secure and conducive environment to exercise their right to vote freely during the elections.
They said that the success of a democratic process is not merely about holding elections; it also requires providing voters with an atmosphere in which they can exercise their constitutional right to vote without fear or pressure. They appreciated the Chief Election Commissioner for fulfilling this responsibility effectively and playing an important role in strengthening public confidence in the electoral process.
Elders and representatives from various segments of society also appreciated the effective coordination among administrative institutions, security forces, polling staff and the Election Commission throughout all three phases of the elections. They said that the measures taken to maintain discipline, law and order, and a peaceful electoral environment played a key role in ensuring the overall success of the electoral process.
