Traders Announce Disassociation from Banned Awami Action Committee;
MIRPUR: Local rominent trader Azmat Khan, along with other members of the business community here Saturday announced their disassociation from the banned Jammu Kashmir Awami Action Committee.
That while addressing press conference at Kashmir Press Club here the traders said they represent the business community and stand firmly for public welfare, peace, and stability in the region. They alleged that the activities of the proscribed Awami Action Committee stand against national interests and claimed that the organization was working on an “Indian agenda,” they alleged.
The speakers stated that the bannex committee initially raised issues of public interests and advocated for citizens’ rights, but had since deviated from its original objectives. According to them, the organization wasnow engaging in matters that have no direct connection with public concerns.
The traders further claimed that some actions of the committee have created anxiety among the masses and the business sector. They strongly condemned the committee’s current policies and activities and formally announced their complete disassociation from it.
During the press conference, the participants emphasized that Pakistan is their identity and Kashmiris ultimate destination in all respects and that the valiant Pakistan Armed Forces are the guarantors of the country’s security and stability. They reaffirmed their support for Pakistan and its armed forces, stating that they would not support any activity that could negatively affect regional peace or business operations in Azad Jammu Kashmir.
The traders also clarified that all markets in Mirpur remain open as usual and that business activities are continuing without disruption.
