EC AJK registers three more political parties; total reaches 19
Muzaffarabad: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission has registered three additional political parties, namely Pakistan Ideological Party AJK, Pakistan Muslim League AJK, and Tehreek-e-Jawanan Pakistan Jammu and Kashmir. With these new registrations, the total number of registered political parties has reached 19.
According to a press release issued by the spokesperson of the AJK Election Commission, the three parties were registered after completing all required documentation and fulfilling legal formalities.
Earlier, under the Commission’s action plan, May 30, 2026 was set as the deadline for party registrations. However, the deadline was later extended to June 10, 2026 to allow more political parties to complete legal requirements and submit their applications.
The press release further stated that all political parties meeting the required conditions and legal criteria under the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Elections Act 2020 may submit their applications along with the necessary documents to the Election Commission AJK by June 10, 2026.
The Election Commission reiterated its commitment to conducting free, fair, and transparent elections and to completing all legal formalities on time to further strengthen and improve the electoral system.
