AJK announces initiatives to enhance operational capacity, professional skills of the State Police Force

Muzaffarabad ( AJK): Azad Jammu Kashmir  Prime Minister  Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, on Thursday announced a series of initiatives to enhance the operational capacity and effectiveness of the AJK Police Force.

Addressing the 61st Passing Out Parade at the Police Training School in  the state metropolis on Thursday, the Prime Minister unveiled plans to double budget for essential police equipment, reassess the compensation packages for families of martyred police personnel, and strengthening the force by increasing the number of personnel where necessary.
Inspector General of Police Azad Jammu Kashmir Muhammad Yasin Qureshi, Principal of the Police Training School SSP Kamran Ali also addressed the ceremony highlighting the measures to ensure professional skills and capabilities of the State police force harmonious to the need of the modern age to maintain law and order and to ensure safety of the life and property of the people in the region.
He also announced the consolidation of the police line’s march floor (beat), the construction of barracks for lady police officers, and the alignment of salaries and benefits of police officers and personnel with those in Punjab.  The Prime Minister also stated that police courts would be held in all three divisions after Ramadan.
Paying rich tribute to the sacrifices of the police force, the Prime Minister said that the police uniform is a symbol of dignity.?  “Police force has faced every challenge with courage and resilience”, the pm remarked. He added that the armed forces of Pakistan and the police personnel continue to make sacrifices to maintain peace and protect the public.? The Prime Minister lauded the police force for their exemplary services during earthquakes, floods, and other natural disasters.
?The Prime Minister said that during the last year’s highly volatile situation in Azad Kashmir, the police force had demonstrated remarkable determination and resilience.?He instructed the newly passing out recruits to perform their duties with responsibility and integrity.
“The protection of citizens’ lives and their property is the core responsibility of the police”, the pm added. He added that  the government was taking practical measures to further improve the professional skills and performance of the police force
