Pakistan to continue unflinching support to Kashmiris struggle for their birth right to self determination: Qasim Noon

MIRPUR  (AJK):Chairman of the National Kashmir Committee Rana Qasim Noon  reiterated Pakistan’s firm resolve that the Kashmir issue was neither a story of the past and nor a matter to be closed in any file.

“Kashmiris is still a living and dynamic axis of Pakistan’s foreign policy, national security and the struggle of the people of Jammu and Kashmir”, he added while addressing crowded news conference at Kashmir Press Club in Mirpur AJK  on Sunday, our Special AJK Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao reports from Mirpur.
He was flanked by members of the National Kashmir Committee Fatehullah Khan Miankhel and Syed Javed Ali Shah Jilani on this occasion.
Qasim Noon continued as saying “Pakistan’s civil and military leadership stand on the same page, the voice of the Kashmiri people cannot be suppressed, and the future of Kashmir will be decided according to the resolutions of the United Nations”.
Rana Qasim Noon expressed confidence that Kashmir will soon become a part of Pakistan through implementation of the resolutions of the United Nations on Kashmir, because the relationship between Pakistan and the Kashmiri people was linked to history, sacrifice and joint struggle, which no power on earth can weaken, he declared.
Chairman of the National Kashmir Committee Rana Qasim Noon bitterly criticized certain  previous governments for keeping the Kashmir issue in cold storage for a long time in the past.  “However, in the current circumstances, Pakistan’s civil and  the military leadership is on the same page with complete harmony on this national issues”. He said that Kashmir is and will remain a part of Pakistan in every sense, and the Kashmiri people still make the words of the late Syed Ali Gilani “We are Pakistanis, Pakistan is ours” the slogan of their struggle, he added.
 Rana Qasim Noon stated  that Pakistan wants to once again draw the attention of the United Nations and the international community to the early peaceful settlement of the Kashmir issue  because it is a recognized international dispute, he underlined.  He stressed that despite the presence of the Kashmiris movement for the right to self-determination in the United Nations, this fundamental right was not being given to the Kashmiri people for the last 76 years, while the same right has been exercised in many other regions of the world including East Taimoor.
He lamented that the right to self-determination in Kashmir was  being suppressed  because Jammu Kashmir state stands as disputed Muslim majority state in the region. “Majority of the population in Kashmir is Muslim”, he underlined.  The Chairman Kashmir Committee while strongly condemning the sharp increase in Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir after August 5, 2019, said that millions of more Indian soldiers have been deployed, journalists in occupied Jammu and Kashmir were being prevented from performing their professional responsibilities and moee attempts were being made to silence  the voice of the Kashmiri people in a systematic manner.
The Chairman Parliamentary Kashmir Committee, while Lambasting New Delhi, said that India wants to erase the identity, history and civilization of Kashmiris through demographic change but it was not possible for fascist India to erase the thousands of years old history of  the Jammu and Kashmir state.
Rana Qasim Noon, while making a comparative assessment of the situation in Gaza and Kashmir, said that the agenda of oppression and oppression was  the same in both regions, where humanity was being humiliated. He reiterated that Pakistan stands shoulder to shoulder with the Kashmiris and this relationship was eternal, an example of which was the sacrifices made by Pakistan for Kashmir, he underlined.
Qasim Noon  said that the Government of Pakistan always stands on unequivocal stance on the Kashmir issue.
The Chairman National Parliamentary Kashmir Committee said that the recent announcements about grant of due relief, made by the Prime Minister of Pakistan for the Kashmiri refugees, the Mangla Dam Raising Project and the early resolution of the problems of the affected people, as well as the about  the early construction of an internatiinal airport in Mirpur in view of the millions of Kashmiris living abroad will be materialised in letter and spirit.
He disclosed that helicopter service was being launched from Islamabad International  Airport exclusively for the transportation of overseas Kashmiris to their ancestral abodes  in AJK  most particularly  in Mirpur, Rawalakot and Muzaffarabad divisions until an international airport was established in expatriates’ city of Mirpur  and existing airports at Rawalakot and Muzaffarabad were revived, he added.
He paid rich tribute to the services of the late President of Azad Jammu Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, for the Kashmir cause both at home and abroad.
