APHC stresses unity, urges UN to resolve Kashmir dispute in region’s interest
Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has renewed its call for unity among ranks and files of Kashmiri people to achieve a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute and to reclaim the fundamental rights usurped by the BJP-led Indian government in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement issued after a meeting of APHC leaders in Srinagar said the current political and democratic challenges facing occupied Jammu and Kashmir were also discussed in the meeting.
The APHC spokesman denouncled the India-sponsored groups and self-styled leaders who have started dancing to the tune of the Modi regime to divide the the people in IIOJK. The Hurriyat leaders condemned these elements saying that people of Kashmir have rejected them. The meeting termed the Kashmir issue purely a political one and said that both Pakistan and India are signatories to the United Nations Security Council resolutions which assure the people of Kashmir to decide their political future through a democratic formula of free and fair plebiscite under the auspices of United Nations.
The APHC hailed the recent statement of Army chief Filed Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Kashmir as morale boosting for the Kashmiri people. They said that the statement had infused a new spirit in the Kashmiris’ freedom struggle.
The meeting while urging talks on Kashmir said that Pakistan, India and the Kashmiri leadership should sit on table to resolve the lingering dispute as per the wishes and aspirations of the people of Kashmir.The meeting asked the Indian government to shun its rigidity and pave the way resolution of the Kashmir dispute within the framework of the United Nations Security Council resolutions.
The APHC expressed serious concern over the continued illegal detentions of Hurriyat leaders and youth in different jails since long time have urged United Nations Secretary General António Guterres and the world community to take serious cognizance of the prevailing deteriorating situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir where the people have been besieged by more than one million Indian forces who have deprived them of their fundamental rights as guaranteed by the United Nations Charter.
