President Erdogan hailed for raising Kashmir dispute at UNGA
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter and World Forum for Peace & Justice have hailed the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, for raising the Kashmir dispute during his speech at the UN General Assembly in New York.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC-AJK Convener, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, in a statement issued in Islamabad said Türkiye’s consistent support for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute has been a source of great encouragement for the Kashmiris.
“The struggling people of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir owe a debt of gratitude to President Erdogan and the people of Türkiye who besides highlighting the plight of Kashmiris have strongly condemned India’s illegal occupation and the atrocities being inflicted upon the people of Kashmir by Indian forces,” he said.
Mehmood Ahmed Saghar expressed the hope that the world leaders would follow President Erdogan and support his call for an early and amicable resolution of the lingering Kashmir dispute.
APHC leader, Altaf Hussain Wani, in his statement thanked President Erdogan for his continued support to the Kashmiris’ legitimate cause and raising the Kashmir issue vociferously in the UN General Assembly. “We deeply appreciate the role of our brotherly country that besides lending all out support to our struggle has significantly contributed in raising global awareness about the peaceful settlement of the long-pending Kashmir conflict,” he said.
Lauding president Erdogan’s wisdom and broader understanding of the challenges being faced by the world today, Altaf Wani said that it was high time that the world leaders should reciprocate President Erdogan’s call for ending conflicts to ensure global peace. He urged the UN to play its role in the peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
Meanwhile, Chairman of World Forum for Peace & Justice, Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai, in a statement issued in Washington said the mention of Kashmir conflict by President Erdogan at the UN General Assembly has been very well received by the oppressed people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the global Kashmiri diaspora. This statement is the source of great inspiration at a time when Kashmiris are facing existential threat, he said.
Dr Fai said to resolve the Kashmir conflict through dialogue and negotiation has been the consistent policy of Türkiye during Erdogan’s administration and we remain deeply grateful to them.
