AJK moves to upgrade tourism facilities in Mirpur;
MIRPUR : Oct 2 Under the spirit to give an impetus to the local and national tourism in the scenic sites of AJK, Director General Tourism and Archaeology Department Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Shahid Hussain on Friday inspected tourism facilities, pizza shops and parks managed by the department along the Upper Jhelum Canal at Mangla Upper Head in Mirpur district, it was ifficially said.
He reviewed recreational facilities available for tourists, cleanliness and overall management arrangements at different sites, am official spokesman of tge department later told media here Friday evening.
The Director General directed the concerned officials to bring the management of tourism sites in line with modern tourism requirements and ensure improved facilities for visitors.
Talking to officials, Raja Shahid Hussain said Mirpur held special tourism significance due to its historical heritage, Mangla Lake, natural beauty and distinctive tourist attractions.
He directed the department officials to ensure quality facilities for tourists without compromising on standards and to utilize all available resources in line with the government’s vision of making the region more attractive to visitors.
He further directed that proper seating areas, quality food, effective cleanliness arrangements and overall management at tourism sites be improved to provide tourists with a clean, pleasant and quality recreational environment.
