District Administration Neelum completes preparations for peaceful and transparent elections
Neelum: The office of the District Returning Officer/District Magistrate
has announced that all necessary arrangements have been finalized for the peaceful, transparent, and fair conduct of elections across Neelum district on August 2, 2026.
According to an official press release, all candidates, political parties, polling agents, assistant polling staff, and voters have been directed to strictly comply with the election code of conduct and the law.
The district administration and all security agencies are fully alert to ensure a peaceful and transparent electoral process, while voters have also been urged to play their role responsibly.
The press release stated that polling will continue without any break from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on August 2, 2026. Voters present inside polling stations or standing in queues at 5:00 pm will be allowed to cast their votes.
It further stated that candidates, election agents, polling agents, and voters must maintain discipline throughout the electoral process, follow the code of conduct, and cooperate with the district administration for the holding of free and fair elections.
The administration made it clear that no violation of election rules or any form of disorder during the election campaign or polling process would be tolerated.
According to the press release, election campaigning, attempts to influence voters, or any violation of the election code of conduct within a 400-meter radius of polling stations will be strictly prohibited under the law.
The display or distribution of election banners, flags, posters, badges, pamphlets, or any other promotional material inside or outside polling stations will not be allowed. Polling agents will be required to carry their original Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs).
Candidates, election agents, and voters will not be permitted to bring weapons or any dangerous items during the electoral process. Only voters, authorized polling agents, election staff, and relevant officials will be allowed to enter polling stations, while the entry of unauthorized persons will remain prohibited.
The District Returning Officer/District Magistrate of Neelum appealed to the public, candidates, political parties, and election staff to maintain a peaceful atmosphere, respect the law, and immediately inform the relevant election authorities or administration about any unusual situation.
The administration expressed hope that the elections would be successfully completed in a free, fair, transparent, and peaceful environment.
