PPP AJK holds key meeting on governance, election strategy and administrative affairs
Muzaffarabad: An important meeting of the Parliamentary Party of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Azad Jammu and Kashmir was held in Muzaffarabad, which was attended by Acting President Chaudhry Latif Akbar, Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, President PPP AJK Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin, former President and Prime Minister Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, Senior Minister Mian Abdul Waheed, government ministers Sayed Bazil Ali Naqvi, Javed Iqbal Badhanvi, Chaudhry Muhammad Rafiq Nayyar, Sardar Muhammad Hussain, Chaudhry Arshad, Malik Zafar Iqbal, Sardar Ziaul Qamar, Ms. Nabila Ayoub, Chaudhry Yasir Sultan, Sardar Javed Ayoub, Aamir Yasin, Chaudhry Akhlaq, Chaudhry Qasim Majeed, Member Assembly Javed Butt, Ms. Taqdees Gilani, and DG Political Affairs Aamir Zeeshan Jaral.
The meeting conducted a detailed review of the current administrative, political, and overall situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Matters related to the upcoming Legislative Assembly elections, including strategy, electoral preparations, organizational affairs, and public outreach campaigns, were also discussed.
The Parliamentary Party reviewed the performance of the government and termed the decision to regularize ad-hoc, contract, and temporary employees as a historic and pro-people step taken by the PPP-led government. Participants stated that this decision has secured employment for thousands of workers and their families, marking a significant step toward fulfilling the party’s public manifesto.
Issues regarding the submission of nomination papers were also discussed during the meeting. Concerns were raised over the submission of nomination papers for District Poonch at the Election Commission office in Poonch House, Rawalpindi. It was decided that a formal letter would soon be written to the Secretary of the Election Commission in this regard.
The meeting reaffirmed its commitment to continuing efforts for public welfare, better governance, merit, transparency, and strengthening the development process. Participants also expressed their resolve to fully prepare for the upcoming elections and to present the party’s manifesto to the public at the grassroots level.
