JUI delegation calls on PM AJK, urges unity, religious harmony, political dialogue during Muharram
Muzaffarabad: A delegation of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), led by Maulana Imtiaz Abbasi, called on Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Faisal Mumtaz Rathore.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the prevailing political, administrative, and overall situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The delegation briefed the Prime Minister on the challenges faced by the region, issues of public concern, law and order, and the promotion of political harmony and mutual cooperation.
Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore said that in the current situation, the promotion of contacts and consultations among all political and religious parties is a vital necessity. He added that the government is utilizing all available resources to ensure the protection of life and property, maintain peace in the state, uphold the rule of law, and provide public welfare.
The JUI delegation assured the Prime Minister of their full cooperation with the government for promoting peace, stability, and mutual harmony in the region. Other matters of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting.
It was emphasized that as the month of Muharram has commenced, religious scholars should play their role in maintaining inter-sect harmony during this sacred month, while the administration will also fulfill its responsibilities in this regard.
