AJK Legislative Assembly pays tribute to Pakistan’s peace efforts and leadership
Muzaffarabad: A resolution presented by the Leader of the Opposition and President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Azad Kashmir, Shah Ghulam Qadir, was unanimously adopted in the Legislative Assembly of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The resolution stated that the Legislative Assembly of Azad Jammu and Kashmir warmly welcomes the recent peace agreement between the United States and Iran. It also lauded the efforts of the leadership of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, including Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their contributions toward promoting peace in the Middle East.
The House observed that the civilian and military leadership of Pakistan has played an exceptional role in advancing global peace, which has significantly enhanced Pakistan’s prestige at the international level. It further paid tribute to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, stating that his effective diplomacy played a key role in facilitating the peace agreement.
The resolution noted that the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, whose future is linked with the State of Pakistan, take pride in Pakistan’s international role and consider it a matter of honour for the Kashmiri people. It emphasized that a strong Pakistan is the guarantor of Kashmir’s freedom, and the people of Kashmir view Pakistan as the center of their hopes and aspirations.
The House also extended its appreciation to friendly Islamic countries, including Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar, for their diplomatic support and constructive role in making the peace agreement possible.
Additionally, the Assembly expressed grief and sorrow over the recent helicopter crash in Muzaffarabad, in which officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army were martyred, and offered heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
