Locals demand urgent action over security crisis at Cadet College Chattar Klass
Muzaffarabad: The security situation at Cadet College Chattar Klass, located a few kilometers from the capital Muzaffarabad, has taken a serious turn. The protective boundary walls, constructed at a cost of millions of rupees, have deteriorated significantly and have completely collapsed at several points , posing a potential risk of a major incident.
According to local sources, the walls surrounding the college are in a severely dilapidated condition, with large cracks visible at multiple places. As a result, the college premises have effectively become insecure. Being situated alongside a main highway, the area experiences constant traffic flow day and night. With the onset of summer, nomadic herders (Bakarwals) also pass through the place , and their livestock has reportedly entered the college premises on several occasions, raising serious concerns about the security system.
Residents of the area have expressed that educational institutions in different parts of the country have been targeted in the past, and such negligence under current circumstances could lead to a serious tragedy. They warned that if immediate measures are not taken, any untoward incident could occur, for which the concerned authorities would be held responsible.
The locals have urged the authorities, particularly senior officials of the Pakistan Army, to take urgent action to repair and reconstruct the boundary walls of Cadet College Chattar Klass. They also called for the installation of barbed wire around the premises and the implementation of comprehensive security measures to prevent any potential act of terrorism or accident.
This situation not only raises serious questions about the security of an educational institution but also highlights clear administrative negligence, demanding immediate attention and practical steps.
