Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry expressed these views while giving an exclusive interview to Head of the Media and Information Literacy Centre of Azerbaijan and Vice Rector of the Tele-Radio Academy AZ Television Almaz Mahmood Nasibova at Kashmir House in Islamabad.

He said the Kashmir dispute between Pakistan and India has been going on since the partition of the sub-continent. He said Jammu and Kashmir is a Muslim-majority territory but India has forcibly occupied a large part of it.

He said that Kashmir was an unresolved dispute on the agenda of the United Nations and India wanted to gain the support of the world by conducting a false flag operation in Pahalgam and blaming it on Pakistan, but the propaganda failed and the Pakistan Army gave a befitting reply to India’s aggression and destroyed its nefarious intentions.

The AJK President said the real and important party to the Kashmir dispute is the Kashmiri people. He added that the Kashmir dispute was a flashpoint between Pakistan and India and until this issue is resolved in accordance with the United Nations resolutions, there can be no guarantee of lasting peace and security in South Asia.

Barrister Sultan appealed to the international community to play a role in settling the lingering Kashmir so that permanent peace could be established in the region.
