Brigadier Muhammad Khan joins Jamaat-e-Islami, announces election bid from Central Bagh

Islamabad:  A significant political development in the Central Bagh constituency as Brigadier Muhammad Khan, along with hundreds of supporters, joined Jamaat-e-Islami, dealing a major setback to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

Former government minister Raja Yasin also announced his support for Jamaat-e-Islami and Brigadier Muhammad Khan along with thousands of his voters.

The joining ceremony was held under Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir. Senior leaders Liaqat Baloch and Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Khan administered the oath to new members. Brigadier Muhammad Khan was also declared the party’s candidate for the upcoming election from the Central Bagh constituency.

Speaking on the occasion, Liaqat Baloch said that people have repeatedly tested traditional parties for decades but their problems remain unresolved. He said the current crisis in Azad Kashmir should be resolved through dialogue.

Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Khan stated that Jamaat-e-Islami plans to train 100,000 youth for employment under the “Bano Qabil” program, while also expanding education, healthcare, and development projects using state resources.

Brigadier Muhammad Khan said he joined Jamaat-e-Islami to promote merit and fight corruption, adding that he would introduce legislation for NTS-based recruitment in all government departments.

Former Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir chief Abdul Rashid Turabi also announced support for Brigadier Muhammad Khan.

Several other local leaders also addressed the gathering.
