AJK Police has no any leaning for any political party or group: AJK Police Chief

MIRPUR  ( AJK ):Inspector General of Police Azad Jammu and Kashmir Captain (Retd) Liaquat Ali Malik has said that his Police force  has no any connection with any political party or religious sect and any group, which could influence  for induction of the police officers of their individual choice in any AJK  district.

The police force will remain completely impartial to ensure the coming general elections in Azad Jammu Kashmir free, fair and transparent, he added.

He expressed these views during his visit to Mirpur in meetings held with delegations of the District Council, Municipality, lawyers, Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Traders Association, media representatives, retired police officers and employees and representatives of civil society. Earlier, he also spoke to the dignitaries of the area at Mangla Police Station.

On this occasion, DIG Range Mirpur Kamran Ali Mughal and SSP Khurram Iqbal, Civil society and police personnel warmly received the AJK  Police chief Liaqat Ali Maik on his first ever visit to Mirpur  district since taking over charge of the office as IG AJK Police. On reaching the DIG office, a smart police contingent saluted and presented a guard of honor

The AJK police Chief continued that there was no political interference in the police forces. “My mission is to protect the lives and property of the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and maintain the self-respect of the police force. In Azad Kashmir, Counter Terrorism Department, establishment of Elite Police, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot Mirpur Safe City Project, establishment of Right Management Police, Azad  Jammu Kashmir Police and their families are being provided with treatment in CMH, education in APS and facilities equal to those of the army in CSD Shop.

The IGP told that a lady police station will soon start functioning in Mirpur. Vigorous steps were being taken to increase the strength and provide resources to the Azad Jammu Kashmir Police forces. Azad Jammu Kashmir Police is the police of the state besides  the people of the state. He resolved that with the mutual cooperation of the people and the police, a people-friendly police system was being introduced for crime control, traffic management and many other issues.

 “No recommendation will be required for free registration of cases in police stations, nor will any application be kept pending. The dignity and self-respect of the visitors coming to the police station will be taken care of. The police and the media are on the same page. If the police does a good job, support it. If the police does something wrong, stop it and point it out”, the IGP said

 Earlier, Inspector General of Police Azad Jammu and Kashmir Captain (retd) Liaquat Ali Malik inaugurated the newly constructed building of the SHO’s residence in Mangla police station and laid the foundation stone of the mosque building built within the police station limits.

 Later, he visited the reception office and police station of the Mangla entry point and saw the daily log and gave instructions on other important matters including investigation of registered cases and crimes, progress against declared suspects. A large number of people from various segments of civil society, district councilors,  and ofiicials were also present on the occasion.
