PM AJK pledges focus on Education, Women Empowerment, and Religious Harmony

Islamabad:The Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, has said that students’ welfare, educational development and resolution of public issues, women empowerment and fostering religious harmony were among his government’s top priorities.The AJK premier made these remarks, while talking to different delegations that separately called on him here today.Speaking on the occasion, he stressed on women’s empowerment, religious harmony terming it as essential for inclusive
development and strengthening democratic governance.During his meeting with a delegation of the Peoples Students Federation (PSF) Azad Kashmir, Prime Minister Rathore said that restoring student unions, reforming curricula and promoting technical education would equip youth with leadership qualities and modern skills so that they could be able compete both at national and global level. The Prime Minister assured that a comprehensive policy would be developed to address student concerns.Meanwhile, in a separate meeting Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Azad Kashmir Women Wing President Shaheen Kausar Dar, the issues relating to women empowerment, their participation in the political process, organizational matters and strengthening party activities came under discussion.

The prime minister added that the government was committed to working in close coordination with all stakeholders, addressing institutional and public concerns, and accelerating the pace of development projects to ensure their timely completion. The Prime Minister congratulated her and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing equal opportunities for women.
Shaheen Kausar Dar on the occasion appreciated the government’s 100-day performance.The Prime Minister also highlighted the role of
religious scholars in promoting peace, tolerance and interfaith harmony. In his meeting with a delegation led by Chairman Ulema and
Mashaikh Sahibzada Zulfiqar Ali, the PM said that collective and concerted efforts were required to eliminate sectarianism, extremism
and hatred in society. The Prime Minister expressed his determination
to resolve issues related to mosques and seminaries on a priority basis.Talking to another delegation, which met him under the leadership of the  PPP Azad Kashmir Central Vice President Rashid Salam Butt, the Prime Minister, listened to their concerns and assured that relevant authorities would be directed to address the issues promptly and that consultation with representatives would continue.Former assembly member Shehzada Kausar Gilani, along with ticket holder Ishtiaq Gilani, and Umar Riaz the overseas PPP leader also met the Prime Min ster and extended their congratulations to the primer on assumption of office.The delegations appreciated the
successful conduct of the Overseas Convention and the government’s
100-day performance.

The PSF delegation, led by Chairman Coordinator with the Prime Minister Sardar Fozib Khan, included Arbaz Mustafa, Bilal Kazmi, Ubaid Sadiq, Raja Haseeb Advocate, Khan Nawab, Daniyal Baig, Afzal Haider, and others.The Ulema and Mashaikh delegation, led by Sahibzada Zulfiqar Ali, comprised Sardar Ahmed Sagheer, Murtaza Durrani, Shehzad Rathore, and Muhammad Ali Advocate.The delegation led by PPP Azad Kashmir Central Vice President Rashid Salam Butt included Asghar Gujjar, Chaudhry Jameel Asghar, Haji Siddique, and Umar Riaz, while former minister Javed Butt was also present.
