Kashmir Solidarity Day observed at Pakistan Embassy in Riyadh

On the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day (February 5), a dignified ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Riyadh, which was attended in large numbers by members of the Pakistani and Kashmiri communities, along with diplomatic officials. The participants reaffirmed their firm resolve to stand shoulder to shoulder with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters until the freedom of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir is achieved. Addressing the gathering, speakers strongly condemned the grave and continuous human rights violations being committed by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir, where innocent Kashmiris are being subjected to brutal oppression.

They expressed deep concern over the silence of the international community and stressed that the long-standing Kashmir dispute must be resolved in accordance with the United Nations resolutions and the legitimate aspirations of the Kashmiri people. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Pakistan, Mr. Muazzam Ali, stated that India is sabotaging regional peace and remains involved in acts of terrorism. He emphasized that Pakistan has always given a strong and effective response to Indian aggression. He urged the United Nations and global powers to take serious notice of Indian atrocities and play their due role in ensuring the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. The ceremony was attended by prominent Kashmiri leaders including Sardar Abdul Razzaq, Maulana Abdul Malik Mujahid, Rana Abdul Rauf, Sardar Rafique, Iftkhar Abbasi, Sardar Saleem, along with Professor Rafiq Chaudhry, Rana Sarfaraz, Adnan Iqbal Butt, Jameel Rabbani, Ilyas Rahim and other notable figures from the Pakistani and Kashmiri communities, who expressed complete solidarity with the Kashmiri people. Chairman Kashmir Overseas Forum Sardar Muhammad Razzaq Khan, Vice Chairman Sardar Zareen, Sardar Abrar Hafeez, Sardar Imran Idrees, Sardar Khalid Hameed and Abdullah Khan also attended the ceremony and reaffirmed their unwavering support for the just struggle and right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people.
On this occasion, Kashmiri leaders also addressed the gathering and paid rich tribute to the sacrifices and ongoing struggle of the Kashmiri people. During the ceremony, special messages from Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari, and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar were read out by Kiran Akbar, Hamza Khan and Moeed Kiani, respectively. The messages reiterated Pakistan’s full political, diplomatic and moral support for the Kashmiri people. The participants reiterated their commitment that Pakistan will continue to extend unwavering political, diplomatic and moral support to the Kashmiri people at all levels and will keep highlighting the Kashmir issue before the international community through observances such as Kashmir Solidarity Day.
