RAWALPINDI – Pakistan’s security forces successfully thwarted major Indian-backed terrorist attack in Kharan, killing 12 militants from the group “Fitna-ul-Hindustan”.

In latest update, ISPR said a heavily armed group of 15 to 20 terrorists targeted the City Police Station and two local banks. Security personnel engaged the attackers at three separate locations, preventing the militants from taking the police station hostage. While the terrorists managed to loot Rs 3.4 million from the banks, the swift action of the security forces forced the remaining attackers to flee.

Military’s media wing stressed that operations against Indian-sponsored terrorism will continue until the threat is completely eradicated. The military’s media wing highlighted that nationwide anti-terror campaign, Azm-e-Istehkam, is being executed with full force to root out foreign-backed terror elements.

Militants linked to the Indian-supported group Fitna Al Khawarij were killed in two intelligence-driven operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Between January 13 and 14, security forces conducted targeted operations in Bannu and Kurram districts.

During Bannu operation, eight militants were killed after fierce exchange of fire, while five more were neutralized in Kurram under similar circumstances.

Sanitization operations are ongoing to eliminate any remaining militants in these areas. They emphasized that the counter-terrorism campaign under Azm-e-Istehkam, as approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, will continue relentlessly to wipe out the menace of foreign-backed terrorism from Pakistan.
