Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), held a high-profile press conference on Tuesday, where he presented what he described as “comprehensive and irrefutable evidence” of India’s involvement in state-sponsored terrorism inside Pakistan

Speaking to the media in Rawalpindi, Lt Gen Chaudhry directly challenged India’s claims following the April 22 Pahalgam attack in Indian-occupied Kashmir. He criticized New Delhi for accusing Pakistan without offering a shred of credible evidence, even a week after the deadly incident.

“Seven days have passed, and not a single piece of evidence has been provided—only empty rhetoric,” he said. “Today, we are presenting concrete proof of how India, as a state, is orchestrating terrorism on Pakistani soil.”

He cited a recent counterterrorism operation as part of the evidence. On April 25, security forces apprehended an Indian-trained terrorist near Jhelum. The suspect, a Pakistani citizen, was found with a locally assembled improvised explosive device (IED), Indian-made drone equipment, Rs1 million in cash, and mobile phones used for cross-border communication.

Lt Gen Chaudhry said forensic analysis confirmed the suspect had direct contact with an Indian Army officer, identified as Subedar Sukhwinder. “The handler had directed the suspect to pick up the IED from a designated location. Their conversations—conducted over Indian communication networks—were intercepted and verified,” he explained.

He added that India has been providing explosives and IEDs to terrorist groups operating in Pakistan, including through drone delivery. “This is just one example of India’s state-backed terrorism,” he said.

More disclosures are expected as the press conference continues, with Pakistani authorities promising to reveal further details of alleged terror plots and India’s involvement in them.
