Islamabad: India is intensifying its settler-colonial agenda in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) seizing more land from Kashmiris.

A report released today said India’s colonial occupation of Kashmir began with military intervention on October 27, 1947 and since then Kashmir has been treated as a colony by India.

It said that India’s August 5, 2019, move was a direct step towards further colonization of the occupied territory. It further said the abolition of Kashmir’s special status aligns with the dreams of Hindutva forces.

The report lamented that India was altering Kashmir’s demography by settling non-Kashmiri Hindus in the territory. Kashmir’s natural resources are being exploited with impunity amidst heavy militarization, it added.

It said the Modi’s colonial project in IIOJK is marked by land grabs and the marginalization of local people. Modi is using Indian business companies and tycoons to expand colonization of Kashmir, it maintained.

The reports said India’s actions in the occupied territory mirror Israel’s land grab tactics in Palestine and its colonial measures in IIOJK violate multiple United Nations resolutions.

The world remains silent on India’s blatant colonialism in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, it said adding it’s time for the world to break its silence and address India’s colonialism in the territory.
