Severe cold continues in IIOJK, Srinagar’s famous Dal Lake freezes

As Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir is passing through “Chillai Kalan”, the 40 days harshest winter period, Srinagar’s famous Dal Lake has frozen.

The occupied territory is grappling with persistent wintry conditions, with a further drop in night temperatures. Srinagar experiences a bone-chilling minus 4.8°C, resulting in the partial freezing of the iconic Dal Lake. Shikara owners are facing difficulties in navigating their boats through the icy waters. Morning rowing becomes a formidable task as boatmen break through the frozen surface to carve paths for their boats.

It is to be mentioned here that “Chillai Kalan” commences on December 21 and ends on January 31.

Meanwhile, A residential house was gutted, today, in a fire incident in Ganderbal district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

An official told the media that the fire erupted in a house in Kangan area of the district.
