Muzaffarabad ceremony pays homage to pioneer leader Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan

Muzaffarabad: A ceremony was organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell at the Kashmir Resource Centre in Muzaffarabad to commemorate the death anniversary of the founding President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Ghazi-e-Millat Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan.

The event was attended by All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Zahid Safi, spokesperson to the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Shaukat Javed Mir, APHC leader Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Media Coordinator of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell Sardar Ali Shan, Director National Awareness Wing Sardar Sajid Mahmood, Chairman Shabab-ul-Muslimeen Muneer Ahmed Qureshi, Deputy Director Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell Farhan Qayyum Abbasi, Mudassar Abbasi, and several political and social figures.

Addressing the gathering, speakers paid rich tribute to Ghazi-e-Millat Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan for his remarkable national, historical, political, and constitutional services. They said that besides being the founding President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, he was a visionary statesman, a prominent leader of the Kashmir freedom movement, and a true representative of the aspirations of the people.

The speakers highlighted that Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan dedicated his entire life to the struggle for the right to self-determination, freedom, dignity, and prosperity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

They said Ghazi-e-Millat had the unique distinction of being elected President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir four times. He was the youngest person to hold the office and later also became the oldest person to serve as President.

The speakers recalled that under his courageous, visionary, and inspiring leadership, the historic Resolution of Accession to Pakistan was passed in Srinagar on July 19, 1947, which became a significant milestone in the political history of Jammu and Kashmir.

They stated that Ghazi-e-Millat rendered unforgettable services for the promotion of democratic values, supremacy of law, protection of public rights, strengthening of constitutional traditions, and establishment of strong state institutions.

The participants said his honesty, principled politics, political wisdom, national insight, and commitment to public service remain a shining example of leadership and character for future generations.

The speakers emphasized that guidance from Ghazi-e-Millat’s thoughts, ideology, and struggle was essential for taking the Kashmir freedom movement towards its desired goal.

The participants reaffirmed their commitment that the people of Kashmir would never forget the sacrifices of their ancestors and would continue their peaceful, democratic, and legitimate struggle for the right to self-determination with determination.

They also urged the international community, the United Nations, and global human rights organizations to take effective notice of alleged human rights violations in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir and fulfill their responsibilities in accordance with relevant UN resolutions.

The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the elevation of Ghazi-e-Millat Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan’s ranks, reward for the martyrs of Kashmir, success of the Kashmir freedom movement, security and stability of Pakistan, and development and prosperity of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The participants also pledged to play their role in effectively conveying Ghazi-e-Millat’s vision, ideas, and national mission to the younger generation and continue efforts for the Kashmir cause.
