Overseas Pakistanis send record $16 billion home in five months

Rawalpindi: Overseas Pakistani workers have set a new milestone in remittances inflow to their home country, with over $16 billion sent back home in the first five months of the current fiscal year, marking a nearly 10% increase. Last fiscal year, remittances inflow was recorded at a total of $38.3 billion.
These views were expressed by Khalid Nawaz Sadhraich, Chief Executive Officer of Knight Human Management, Shalan & GL, an organization that protects the rights and employment of overseas workers, while talking to a group of 50 overseas workers going abroad for jobs.
Khalid Nawaz Sadhraich attributed this success to Overseas Employment promoter Agencies along with the government who work tirelessly to secure jobs for Pakistani youth in the global market enabling them to feed their families coupled with increasing the inflow of foreign exchange.
He emphasized the importance of soft skills training for workers, making it mandatory for those heading abroad. In this regard, he told, a group of more than 50 youths were also given special training organized by Shalan & GL, which includes soft skills, before their departure. Khalid Nawaz Sadhraich said that the government has made soft skills certificate mandatory for workers going abroad. Sadhraich highlighted that good moral values, teamwork, and adherence to laws are essential skills for employees, ensuring their rights are protected and enabling them to progress. He noted that their organization has helped a large number of workers secure jobs in the global market, contributing to the steady increase in remittances.
